Reviews for "Land of Enki 2"

I like it, I've played both the first and these. These one has more smooth controls and others had commented it better than me. Some jumps are troublesome and it feels more like an expansion to the first game with several improvements than a new game. Swords with different effects apart from damage wold be cool (an ice sword in the ice area for example) or even different weapons. Also getting a long shot from the story, which reminded me of One Piece (cursed fruits, cursed people with mad powers, The mermaid and the fire king for examples) it would be interested to see which powers the curse gives Kon and what handicaps appart from his appearance he suffers. Plus more variety of enemies, the newest thing I saw where those damned clouds that you couldnĀ“t get rid off and made me remember SuperMario's bad memories, and maybe another way of getting items and more variety on them, the 5 or so necklaces could have been all sorts of trinkets easily for their effects. Some sort of story explanation at the beggining and a presentation to Kon's condition would be cool. With all that you'll games will improve surely. And Remember to Always Have Fun!

Fun butt short 4/5

Thanks for the kind words. Glad it brought back some good memories for you. Rest assured, working on plenty of new things and they're all sticking with the pixel aesthetic in the near future :)

It's definitely an improvement over the first game, though there are still some issues I have. To start with what I liked, the controls feel a lot more comfortable. Being able to swing the sword while walking and jumping is a definite bonus, though you still can't throw bombs while moving. As for the levels, they felt like a re-skin of levels from the first game, with enemies acting the exact same way as they did in the first. There were also a lot of surprisingly difficult jumps to make, which only makes me wonder what the stages past the second boss could possibly have in store. Speaking of bosses, Wakiku was definitely a more original and interesting boss than the Pigasaurus from the first game, but it is still far too easy to just stand next to him and throw bombs, regardless of how much damage you take because of how slow he attacks. And Death Face was an awkward boss to fight. While I don't think the fight itself was hard superficially, I got hit by one of the fireballs (or are they flaming arrows?) and died instantly, and I'm pretty sure I had only taken one hit up to that point. The level was far too long for me to want to take another shot at it, when that on attack could deal so much damage. I'd say that the difficulty of some of the jumps as well as the rate you acquire Kupons are two prime targets to be addressed (I had 944 by the first time I lost to Death Face, and I only bought the crystals up to that point).
