Reviews for "Deterministic Dungeon"

The implementation is really nice... However the idea of the game is not for me...

PestoForce responds:

Ideas!

This is not my personal game, but one of the best I've ever played. Graphics and animation is totally flawless and I like it very much. Touching and professional at the same time. It deserves longer and even better music loops. Sound fx is oldscool but solid. At first I overlooked the game mechanics, as it is somewhat hidden in the beginning. Later then, the juggyness of the selector animation, to say it with the duke "really pisses me off" - but I doubt, it was intentional as some of the other animations lag as well in the higher levels. As a hint, inspect the various weapons and totems, it pays. Some funny surprises there, too.

Thanks a lot for sharing this gem!

Glad you had a good time!

Overall, IT IS GREAT!!! But I can't call it 'random' because its about choosing through options at a very fast pace. Heck, I can even get the same item in a row. Maybe make the highlighted box move across choices at a random way instead of in one direction.
"The more, the merrier", please add more stuff like more epic things from the orb aside from scrolls and swords. Also, I liked how unique weapons are to each other. It made the game more interesting. Maybe add some 'difference' between characters that we randomly choose in the first part like this character has more health or that character already a weapon in his hand and etc...
It would be nice,no, AWESOME if you port this game to mobile devices.
Cheers~~~
Keep being AWESOME

Lots of these ideas I'd like to do in a sequel!

When it comes to a game that relies solely on RNG, there's always gonna be that one guy who continuously rolls zeros and gets worse loot than he already had. I am that guy. I understand you can sort of manipulate it with careful timing, but I can't seem to get it down for the life of me. In the end, due to my terrible luck with RNG, the game felt more like just a regular dungeon crawler with awful RNG than anything else.

PestoForce responds:

Yeah, in this case it does take some player skill to really enjoy the game, but practice does lead to improvement!

very fun game played it 2 times
first was testing and the second for wining
i tested that you can die and start having your totems
i got lucky on second time i played and got 2 green ones
soo i just get a 3rd becouse you cant have more i think
after that there is no more RNG you can easly get all the numbers you want
soo useing the all 0 and 1 20 weapon is the best i think
i think its the best way to beat the game
but im sure if you dont have totems its kinda dificult
you will have to go back and get healing scrolls all the time.
loved the game
i am almost finished

PestoForce responds:

Good luck finishing!
