Whats up with that site? It says I'm forbidden to enter that site on my server or something. Another link? Please.

If that doesn't work, just search google for Civic Type R

I'm a fan of classic cars, personally. My dream car is the Jaguar XK 140 - it's just so beautiful. If I ever get rich, I'm buying one.

Classic cars are awesome. My favs would have to be the E-Type Jaguar, Aston Martin DB5 and the Mustang GT390. I think though if you make the decision and buy one it's definitely worth modernising it. For starters, their handling by todays standards is pretty crap. In fact, pretty much all working parts will need upgrading or completely new parts altogether.

For example there's companies in England that specialises in classic Astons and Jags. £80,000 - £120,000+ is a lot of money but for that they'll completely overhaul it and you'll end up with something that drives and goes as well as it looks. They can also add things like sat nav and proper air con (in the DB5 the sat nav is hidden in the dashboard just like in James Bond).

With the Mustang, you'll obviously want it in the same uber dark green as the car from Bullitt, have the handling sorted out and up the power. But, you definitely won't want to bother with any sound proofing or a stereo. That snarl it makes is just too awesome...

Bleh, I need to stop with all the droning. Me liking Top Gear too much is what the problem is.

Mustangs make the sexiest noises ;)

I don't see the problem in liking Top Gear too much. In fact, that's probably a good thing considering you're in the Car Enthusiasts Club haha.

Some people love them, some people hate them, but you have to appreciate the sheer beauty of some of them, no matter what your taste. ;P

The DB5 is nice, but in terms of Astons, I actually prefer the newer ones, like the DB9 and DBS.

If you're serious about driving it a lot, then yeah. An engine rebuild is probably the first thing to do, but either way, modernising a classic car will set you back a whole lotta cash.

Ah Zonda R, nearly there lol. Is the Novitec F430 with 2 superchargers? That has over 700bhp! Can't help thinking you're going to end up dead driving one of those. Needs a bigger wing too or it'll be all over the place.

Anyway guys, I'm in Spain for 10 days from tomorrow so I won't be on at all until the 19th. If you do see me online then it'll be Andrea364 depositing (stat whoring) for me :P

Later!

P.S. The place I'm going is called Marbella and there's a place near there called Puerto Banus. It's basically a millionaires playground and there's no end of exotic cars. You see EVERYTHING there. Eeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Might I join as well?
I grew up playing everything from Crash Team Racing to Gran Turismo. Even managed to complete the 24h Le Mans in A-spec :D

Now I'm just stuck on YouTube's drag & dyno videos.

Ladies and gentlemen, well, maybe just gentlemen, the Barbarian is back! France went fine, weather wasn't great though.

Now, onto cars. The car we rented was a Alfa Romeo, a 159 I think, with a 1.9 litre engine along with... A TURBO!!! Oh man, was it ever sweet. Only small problem was that the car was very low down, and a bit of a bollocks to park.

Anyway, it's been pretty quiet about these parts seemingly, and I haven't seen MGSTroll around for a bit.

As for the lads who asked to join (I'm not being specific, I'm too tired/lazy to check back who it was) welcome aboard. If possible could you put the club in your sig? If you can't, no worries.

Finally, it's good to be back in Ireland I suppose. Guess I'll go to bed or something now (had to get up at 2.30 in the morning to catch the plane...)

Response to The Car Enthusiasts Club 2008-07-10 23:23:16

<3 Zondas ever since I saw them in Gran Turismo, I think.

Also, prior to the Bugatti Veyron release, it was the fastest production car on the planet? Am I right?

Probably. I'd love to drive a Veyron just once on the Volkswagen test track, though, just to experience that sheer power. It's not my favourite car ever, but it would be awesome to experience driving it.

Hey guys sorry I haven't posted for a bit, my PC was acting up. Glad to see there are a few new members and that Rohan had a good trip.

Anyway, on to cars. I had a look at that link Rohan posted. It's the SSC Ultimate Aero TT, the high-performance version of a Shelby model. It got clocked at a whopping 257mph! Not surprising given it has a 1,183 bhp engine!

But, the Bugatti still remains the fastest accelerating car in the world. 0-60 in 2.5 seconds as opposed to the Aero's 2.78.

On top of that, it looks pretty sweet too!

Hey MGS, glad to see you back. That Aero seems like one hell of a monster. Just disappointed that I didn't hear about it before on Top Gear or something like that.

Glad to be back Rohan. I'd love to see a drag race between a Koenigsegg and the Aero. That would kick monumental ass!

Geez it's quiet around here, is everyone on vacation or something?

Provided it was a Koenigsegg CCXR it could actually be a very close race. Perhaps an even better racce though would be one between a Melling Hellcat and a Bristol fighter T. It is predicted that both cars will reach speeds in excess of 270mph.

Also, on the way to the gym yesterday I managed to spot an Aston Martin DB9, a Bentley Continental GT, a Lotus Elise, a BMW 745i, an ML65AMG and an E65AMG. Just one of the perks of going to a gym in a rich area.
