Hi, DrEgg5u here.

I've added a new header for the homepage, based on the current one.

iu_1134490_8746620.png

By the way, what do you think of the Notability Standarts? Should they be changed?

These were written on 2011 (12 years ago) and very much has changed since then. For example, the minimum for an submission to be considered "Notable" was 500K and this was understandable, for example Warriors of The Portal (released 2011, that same year) has 600K, but nowadays, most popular submissions have less a third than that, for example FulpWare, which got both Daily and Weekly featues and is 7th on the Best Of All Time section of the portal, has nothing but 140K. For a game example: Rushdown Rivals, which also got the same awards + a Review Crew Pick, and is on the "Legendary Games" section, has almost the same count of views: 130K. Newgrounds is much less popular than what it used to be back then, and it is almost impossible for a submission to reach such a number.

These standarts weren't at all defined: Some pages say the minimum should be half a million, others say they should be a million, and others over a million.

On the talk page of the Candidates for Deletion page, someone added this topic, which talks more about it, and also proposes which could be the new standarts considering what is NG state. Recommend reading.

Im asking this here to see what you think, and to avoid possible backlash.

These standards may still work for submissions published before 2011. Lowering the view count for newer submissions could help, but may open the gates for less-popular flashes from NG's peak years.

Example: The Madness of Madness! from 2005 has up to 150K views, more than FulpWare, but nowhere near as notable. Same deal with Spongebob Theme Backwards. Just as many views, no awards, not even Turd like B has.

I accounted for this when writing new Notability guidelines for the new wiki,

I also accounted for collabs that may win awards, as the bar for entry is lower than it was 15 years ago.

Basing on the older standarts and the Miraheze ones, I've done these new Reasons for making pages. These are the new view counts for submissions:

  • Games & Movies before 2012 should have minimum 500K views for being considered notable enough to have it's own page.
  • Games after 2012 should have minimun 45K for being considered notable enough to have it's own page.
  • Movies after 2012 should have minimum 100K for being considered notable enough to have it's own page.

The rest:

  • Has won a Weekly/Monthly/Annual award (Except for Turds or Underdogs, as they may not be that notable)
  • Listed on the Flash Portal History.
  • Has been on the "Best of All Time" and/or "Legendary Games" sections.
  • Must have enough information to not make a Stub.

I feel like in cases where the submission doesn't even reach 45K-100K views (which is still a large amount for today's standards), you should contact an admin.

Open collabs (such as the Sketch Collab), could technically qualify dozens of non-notable users as they've all won a Weekly award for having a 5 second part included.

Example: Sketch Collab 2022 won Weekly User's Choise.

I think awards from these shouldn't count unless it's the lead organiser.

I also found a user who contributed spammy pages from 2019-2020.

Some edits are fine, others (mainly those that create a page) simply copy the description.

Examples:

https://newgrounds.fandom.com/wiki/The_Banshee

https://newgrounds.fandom.com/wiki/My_years_of_Halloween

https://newgrounds.fandom.com/wiki/TooF_Chainsaw_Massacre

These are mainly non-notable entries for Halloween.

Okay. I've updated the page, here it is:

Im still doing changes to it if you think something should be modified.

I've already got messages about Yaskotalia

Most of the pages he created are crappy, only pasting the author commentary, with 1pic and the link of the submissions, which aren't notable, as most of them have views under 100K

Worst part is that they´re over 30 pages he created. Not as much as other spammers did, but that's a lot

As the NSFW disclaimer automatically adds a NSFW category to articles, should I delete the Adult Content category as it has the same focus?

How the disclaimer automatically adds it, it makes the category much more accesible and more pages can be added onto it

No, it’s still very informative

What does the "Origin" parameter on the Flash box means?

That's the release date of the Flash (example: for Dr. Mario with Lyrics, the "Origin" is listed as Nov 11 2009).

Quick correction: The page serves for adopting the wiki, not becoming a moderator. Do not use it.

https://newgrounds.fandom.com/wiki/Smash_Girl?so=search

https://newgrounds.fandom.com/wiki/The_Collabinator?so=search

These two pages have no content rather than gibberish.

Despite I've marked them as Crap (and in the case of the first one, Deletion) nobody seems to be interested on improving the pages.

If somebody could expand them, good. If the pages remains like this for a long amount of time, I'll probably delete them.

IMPORTANT: I updated the To-do list on the Miraheze fork

https://newgrounds.miraheze.org/wiki/Wikigrounds:To-do_list

I added a page for the removed movie Ignorance Is Bliss (it has 900K+ views + Weekly Award, so it's notable)

https://newgrounds.fandom.com/wiki/Ignorance_Is_Bliss

https://newgrounds.miraheze.org/wiki/Ignorance_Is_Bliss

I updated SIMGIRLS

https://newgrounds.fandom.com/wiki/SIMGIRLS

IDK if this page should stay.

https://newgrounds.fandom.com/wiki/Dr._Doe's_Chemistry_Quiz

Though it has 4.8M views (NSFW), it's also an A-rated submission, which despite the large quantity of technically eligible submissions, shouldn't be the main focus of the Wiki. Pages like SIMGIRLS can stay as they have significant notability beyond being NSFW (ie. the 2nd highest view count), but what does Dr Doe have?

Added 2 new pages to the Miraheze wiki, the whole site is currently under maitenance

Ok so, for the past month, i have edit many of pages on Wikigrounds, but also made many new pages for it. So here is my contributions that i have created.

  • Cassette Girl (One of the first page that i created for the wiki and the one that i hesitate to make at first. Mostly, because the controversy surrounding it's creator, but i decided to make it given CG is consider to be part of Newgrounds for over 5 years till now.)
  • Aaron-Long (On my to do list if i decided to watch many works from him.)
  • Andyl4nd (On my to list as-well)
  •  ‎The Perfect Murder (One of the Pico Flash movies made by Luis)
  • SoftDon (Probably on my to do list if i get some more information outside of the recent controversy.)
  • Spooky Month (On my to do list given i already finish writing the plot synopsis for Episode 2)
  • KeithGarces (When i tried make this page, i accidentally misspell it as "KetchGraces". So yeah.. just a little trivia.)
  • Portal Panic
  • Uberkid's Revenge (Since there's already a page for House of 1000 Cats, might as-well create another.)
  • Drop Cannon (An under-constructed page that someone or possibly me gonna finished it)
  • IvanAlmighty (Also on the to do list.)

Well other than that, i also improve some of the pages for Rushdown Rivals, Friday Night Funkin', JAZZA, and many others.

Response to The Wikigrounds Club 2024-02-28 09:43:45

More pages i made for the wiki. The first-two were pages related to games created by Andyl4nd like Endacopia and Olive's Art-venture.

Hello and good evening everyone. So a few days ago, I edited, improved and made many new articles for Wikigrounds while most of you were absent, especially recently when I earned a Dedicated badge just 9 hours ago.

So here is the list of most of the new pages/articles that I have created, for the past 2 weeks or so.
